In the 1980s, motivated by the rise of tourism in the region, Mr. José Wilson Vieira (then a partner in one of the first pharmacies in Balneário Camboriú) together with his wife Rogéria Vieira, bought the land to begin construction of their hotel. On October 6, 1988, the Hotel Vieiras was officially founded, coinciding with the arrival of its first tour group. At the time, to accommodate them, the couple relied on the help of friends and family from Balneário Camboriú. Everyone worked carrying tables and chairs, making bed linens, replenishing the breakfast buffet, and working hard, proving that success requires a lot of hard work. At the time, the hotel had 22 rooms spread over two floors and only six employees, but it relied on dreamers who, despite a lack of money, worked tirelessly on maintenance, laundry, apartment cleaning, reception desk service, and everything else that was needed. Today, this old dream is one of the most traditional businesses in Balneário Camboriú, all thanks to hard work and dedication. Now retired, the couple's three children—Wilson Rafael, Marco Rodrigo, and Julia Roberta—are continuing the legacy of this dream.

Brazilian law establishes that the acceptance of minors in hotels is subject to the following rules:
If accompanied by their parents (or one of them), the minor must carry an original or certified copy of their identity card or birth certificate, provided that the parents are also carrying photo identification; If the child or adolescent is alone or accompanied by third parties, authorization signed by the parents or guardians with a signature duly registered at a notary's office or judicial authorization is required; The Statute of the Child and Adolescent was amended by Law No. 13.812/2019 and now stipulates that no child or adolescent under 16 years of age may travel unaccompanied by their parents or guardians without express authorization. Regarding accommodation, Article 82 of the Statute of the Child and Adolescent has not been amended and establishes that: "It is prohibited to accommodate a child or adolescent in a hotel, motel, boarding house or similar establishment, unless authorized or accompanied by their parents or guardian." The same Statute, in its Article 2, considers a child to be a person up to twelve years of age and an adolescent to be a person between twelve and eighteen years of age.
Minors may only stay if accompanied by their legal guardians, who must present legal documents proving their legal guardianship (identification document for both the guardian and the minor, birth certificate, ID card or passport).
